The Early days

Originally Swurve was formed over a decade (1995) ago in Coleraine by founding members, best friends and songwriters Neil ‘Cozy McAuley & Tim Torrens, it actually came about from Cozy’s dad Michael also a drummer and Tim’s dad Jim a guitarist/bassist. They where playing a gig and exchanged telephone numbers for Cozy & Tim to arrange a jam well as they say the rest is history and Swurve was born……………

Since Swurve formed they have released ep's, singles along with endless touring across UK, Ireland & Europe playing some of the most prestigious venues, festivals around building up a profile and solid fanbase, the band have also supported many major acts!

Swurve's big melodic rock sound with hooky choruses will capture your heart, imagination and give you shivers. They have created a buzz and certainly been well received within the music industry over the years especially from 2001 to 2005 with the independent single releases which got extensive support from major National and Regional Radio Stations …. Many journalists / representatives in the music industry gave the band good positive reviews. During this period Swurve gained credibility and a reputation as an excellent live act establishing themselves on many stages and endlessly working on perfecting a high energy live show with tight musicianship that was not to be missed!!!

Swurve have scheduled the release of their Debut Album entitled (15 YEARS) For Late Fall 2010.

15 Years will be a Digital download release only and is a collection of songs written and recorded between 2002 and 2010 as a celebration of TIM & COZY'S career spanning back to 1995.

This album release is a mile stone for the band and closes one chapter but symbolises the birth of a new exciting era for TIM & COZY.

SWURVE have already made significant progress with the songs for the 2nd album which will be released late 2012.

Swurve 15 YEARS. Raw Talent Music

review from shakinstir 2011

15 YEARS it’s a huge pop-rock record that should be blaring out over the airwaves from dusk till dawn. Opener ‘Inside’ has truckloads of melody, superb performances, catchy choruses and good lyrics - it’s got Radio 1 written all over it. ‘Laydown’ drops pace to become a most moving and reflective song with terrific rocky chorus crescendos before sinking back - another potential single if ever there was one with strong hints of Nickelback. There’s a nice diversity of pace and mood throughout with consistently great performances and memorable melodies. I frankly find it extraordinary that this is the band’s debut album and on their own label. There’s twelve songs here and while there are obviously standouts this is an album which you put on play and then repeat. It’s that good.   4/5

Swurve “15 Years” (Raw Talent Records)

Swurve were formed in Northern Ireland in 1995 and, despite releasing a string of singles and EPs during that time- and having toured Europe, it was not until 15 years later that their debut album sees the light of day- hence the album is called “15 Years”.

Opening track, and 1st single from the album, “Inside” is a clear indication of the bands intentions and fans of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Nickelback etc are bound to enjoy the album. Massive sounding tracks such as “Laydown”, “Picture In My Head”, “Pushing” and “See What I See” are all proof that the 15 year wait was worth it.

With all the songs on “15 Years” written by singer/guitarist Tim Torrens and drummer Cozy McAuley in the years since the band started working together, Swurve are already working on album number two and this should be released later this year.

Northern Ireland is getting back on the

musical map, first we had the magnificent

And So I Watch You From Afar, now

Swurve (the musicis getting fantastic,

name choices still leave a bit to be

desired). Musically not a million miles

from Mcfly but with Balls and Credibility,

Inside is the lead single and although

incredibly catchy, i prefer the edgier

hiding behind your shadow and almost

ballad like Live To Fall. With the album

out on the 15th December i am expecting

big things.
